  The Faith of the Apostle Paul What was Paul's faith like? Paul, in his declaration of belief, revealed that he received a comprehensive education and thorough training under Gamaliel, an esteemed law teacher of his time, strictly adhering to the customs of his ancestors. However, he acknowledged that despite his adherence to the law, it could not save him from his sins. In truth, he had been a persecutor of Jesus, our Savior.  One fateful day, while traveling to Damascus, he encountered Jesus and became a proclaimer of His gospel. Paul possessed unwavering faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, who entered this world, received baptism from John to cleanse all sins, and suffered on the Cross to bear the judgment for those transgressions. In essence, Paul's heart was filled with faith in the redemption of sin. The Scriptural concept of original sin states that every human is born with wickedness and often engages in tremedous amount of sins . The human flesh consistently indulges in sin throughout its lifetime ( Gen 6:5) . It is not an overstatement to describe the human body as a sin-producing factory. The human flesh sustains itself on sins despised by God, consuming them as a daily meal ( Job 15:16 ). The human flesh finds enjoyment in committing acts of adultery, engaging in lewdness, and defying the will of God. Do People Really Know Themselves? When observing people, it becomes evident that they lack self-awareness. Despite Socrates' famous quote to "Know thyself," people genuinely remain oblivious to their own true nature. They are unaware of the deep-seated sins residing within them. According to the Gospel of Mark, Chapter 7, verses 21-23, there exist 12 kinds of sins inside the heart of a person originally.   Without placing our trust in the baptism of Jesus, salvation is unattainable. This is precisely why the Apostle Peter proclaimed that the water, symbolizing the baptism of Jesus, serves as a "symbolic representation that brings about salvation" (1 Peter 3:21). Jesus comes to John at the jordan river to be baptized Matthew 3:13-16 [13]Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. [14]And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” [15]But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him. [16]When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.  Even though people are able to be saved from all their sins by simply believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit written in the Bible, they are neither willing to hear nor to believe in this truth, therefore they are on the verge of destruction not knowing God’s free gift contained in this truth. It becomes clear that the reason for this phenomenon is due to the preachers, clergymen, and leaders of today’s Christianity.  God tells us to get rid of the false prophets. It is deplorable to see that though it is certainly true that there are too many false prophets nowadays, most Christians do not perceive the prophets’ false teachings as something false. However, regardless of whom God raises and uses, He raises the servants of the gospel of the water and the Spirit, and they shout it out. How many people in this world indeed are willing to listen to those who shout out the gospel of the water and the Holy Spirit, which God acknowledges?  Read more www.bjnewlife.org
